In 1977, Anna Molinari and her husband Gianpaolo Tarabini Castellani decided to set up the company Blumarine in Carpi to produce the collections created by Anna. With a penchant for the color blue and a passion for the sea the Blumarine label, was born. In 1980, the Blumarine label made its highly successful debut at Modit in Milan. They had their first show in 1981 during the Milan fashion events and it was a success. 1986 saw the debut at Milano Collezioni with a range exclusively by the designer.
In 1988 Blumarine became a public limited company under the name of Blufin.
In 1995 the Blugirl line was born, designed by Anna Molinari as prêt-à-porter for young women with a romantic inspiration and a witty and fun touch. Blugirl was first shown at Milano Collezioni in 2002 and gained widespread acclaim.
