Kimpton’s Surfcomber Miami, South Beach recently joined Ocean Drive Magazine in presenting the Perry Ellis’ men’s Latin lifestyle apparel brand Cubavera and its latest fashion showcase. The invitation-only event unveiled the brand’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection during the runway show, “Live the Good Life.” Held at the celebrated pool deck of Kimpton’s Surfcomber on September 20, 2012 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., the event featured Cubavera’s diverse collection of vibrant swim, resort and formal wear.
Surfcomber transitioned its one-of-a-kind “day-life” experience to an after-hours poolside playground with synchronized swimmers who kicked off the event while guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres paired with Chambord Vodka Cuban-inspired drinks, courtesy of Lantao Kitchen + Cocktails. During the vintage-meets-modern fashion show, attendees celebrated Latin culture, enjoyed lively entertainment, complimentary culinary delights, and more.
Azucena Cierco, co-host of Telemundo network’s popular morning show “Levantate,” served as host for the exclusive event. Other special guests among the more than 400 hotel guests, ocialites, fashionistas and celebrities in attendance were Pop Artist Romero Britto and Manuel Huerta, Miami’s own triathlete, who recently returned from the London Summer Olympics. After the fashion show, attendees danced the night away to jams from the popular Latin music group, Axis. Meanwhile, getting in on the fashion fun were Surfcomber’s resident herd of life-sized cows and sheep, which graciously posed for photos with guests throughout the effortlessly chic and whimsically designed lobby, pool deck and restaurant.
