In our opinion, this is a nice slap from the GAP. It is rather interesting to see how easily a competing clothing retailer can advertise smack in front of Macy’s Herald Square. The most interesting part is the fact that it is during the messy re-construction of the Macy’s store. Don’t you think this is sort of a slap in the face?
By the way, it is difficult to see in my photo above. However, each umbrella in the area has the GAP brand plastered all over it. Essentially, the GAP has stole the thunder from Macy’s with this keen marketing move.
FYI: The GAP has a nearby store (also at Herald Square), but they marketing effort is clearly smack in front of the under construction Macy’s building.
