Nautica Women’s Fall-Holiday 2012

From the coastal towns of the Northeast, Nautica Women’s Sportswear cruises into Fall/Holiday with a fresh take on its traditional sensibility.  Inspired by a trip on Martha’s Vineyard to Chilmark, Edgartown and Menemsha, shades of Blues, Whites, and Greys are punched up with Bright Oranges and Reds, mixing classic nautical details with updated fabrics and silhouettes, and adding a new dimension to the preppy New Englander.

Nautica Womens FALL 2012 LOOK BOOK

The Vineyards

Think whimsical preppy when you step into The Vineyards. Grounded in Navy and White Cap, with pops of Red, Green and Blue, this delivery is polished casual.  Polos, chinos, and cable knit sweaters keep the group classic, and unexpected details bring a freshness and modern feel to the looks. Toggles have ribbon and suede, trims have braided appliqués, and belts are embroidered with critters.  Iconic pieces, like the sophisticated peacoat and plaid trench layer well over jacquard sweaters and floral wovens.  Denim rinses and shirt dresses take you from a casual work day to the weekend, creating relaxed, yet tailored ensembles.

Sail Loft

Utilitarian meets classic nautical in this small directional group. Winter Whites, Heather Greys, and Washed Greens, Blues, and Pinks create a softer palette, while canvas accents, cargo details, and nylon patches and trim are used to toughen up the pieces. Knits have a new silhouette – modern, long and boxy tops, mixed with traditional Nautica elements found in the buttons, tapes, and grommets.  Fabrics consist of chambray, heavy jersey, striped french terry, and crochet yarn, while prints are distressed, striped, and with anchors. Bottoms are colored and outerwear stays traditional and functional, with filled cotton outer styles that have water repellent coatings.

Harbors of Holiday

Get into the holiday spirit with this energized and upbeat delivery. Colors pop in bursts of Red Orange, and Royal Blue, offset by Navy and White Cap.  Sweaters and coats have novelty details; there are new rope engraved trims, shiny metal trims, and ultra suede trims. Dresses and blouses are color blocked and covered in geometric prints, and materials of stretch sateen and drapey shell top fabric are found in knits.

Trenches are cropped and cardigans are chunky and double breasted.  This delivery is elegant and fun, but all the while staying true to the classic Nautica look.
