ABOUT THE DESIGNER

AUGUST FIELD is the immaculately formed and conceived clothing label of designer Adrien Field. Beginning his career in New York as a magazine editor and celebrity stylist having worked on some of Nicki Minaj’s biggest videos and appearances, Field’s discerning eye and prodigal talent made him a star in New York’s fashion world, appearing on the front page of the New York Post entertainment section and in the New York Times Sunday Styles Page all before he was 21 years old. Searching for growth and a new direction in the summer of 2011, Field left New York to travel to India for two months, where he became inspired by rich Eastern fabrics and the lifestyle of the luxury vagabond. The Effiicient Bride February 2013

Many women greeted their employees on February 15th with an engagement ring on their finger (10% of engagements take place on Valentine¹s Day!). While eager to plan one of the biggest moments in her life, the newly engaged bride is still obligated to go back to work. According to David¹s Bridal annual ³What¹s On Bride¹s Minds² survey, it is estimated that that 77% of employed women plan their wedding while at their job!

As the bridal industry¹s pioneer in fashion and technology, David¹s Bridal recognized that brides turn to the web to organize and plan their weddings, so a variety of tools were created to assist in the process. David¹s Bridal¹s newest online tool My Event allows brides to easily plan, organize, share, and track all their wedding activities to create the event of their dreams. With this new tool, you can:

-Build your own planning community and Connect with your wedding party on our interactive newsfeed!

-Create mood boards for creativity and inspiration and create shopping lists for everyone in your wedding!

-Prioritize, assign, and organize your wedding to-do¹s with customized task lists and manage budgets.

People all across the country are Œpinning¹ recipes, décor ideas and DIY projects.

Surprisingly, even though this was the most popular tip from our brides, below are 10 more great wedding planning tips to help you with the process.

1). If you don¹t have a wedding planner, enlist a friend who isn¹t in your bridal party to help your prioritize and plan!

2). Keep reality in focus- know your budget and stick to it! It is easy to get wrapped up in having an extravagant wedding, but remember the day is really about you and your partner.

3). Choose a theme or symbol first to solidify the vision of your wedding, and it will make as it will make the party planning process easier.

4). If you¹re thinking of a specific color, keep in mind what flowers are available during the time of your wedding, and that flowers in season are less expensive.

5). Ask for references and read online reviews of potential vendors before booking.

6). If you have older wedding guests, make sure there are plenty of places for them to sit down.

7). If you’re having a large number of guests 10 and under, hire a babysitter to watch kids them during the ceremony. Or, set up a children’s table or room at the reception, complete with crayons, coloring books, small toys, and games.

8). Be cognizant of guests and their dietary restrictions- shellfish, vegetarians, gluten, vegan/vegetarian- make sure there is something for everyone.

9). Seat people with similar interests and ages together, and put an even amount of people at each table as people tend to pair off in conversation! You don¹t want to leave anyone out.

10). Thank you notes are as important as your invitations. A great time to write them is on the plane ride to your honeymoon destination while the memory is still fresh.

Prestigious Men’s Retailer Carroll & Co.

For over 62 years, Beverly Hills-based Carroll & Co. has been dressing prestigious directors, producers, writers, and numerous actors. Carroll & Co. custom-tailored clothing for Hollywood celebrities such as Clark Gable, Fred Astaire, William Holden, Billy Wilder, Gregory Peck, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jimmy Stewart, Rock Hudson, Jack Lemmon, and Walter Matthau as they began to frequent the store and provided clothing for classics like “The Bob Newhart Show”, “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”, “Charlie’s Angels”, and “The Six-Million Dollar Man.”

Through the decades and today, Hollywood continues its love affair with Carroll & Co. as leading men such as Tom Cruise, Robert Redford, and Harrison Ford are all outfitted in Carroll & Co. clothing for their films. Long running television series such as “Hill Street Blues”, “St. Elsewhere”, “Dallas” and “Dynasty” as well as “L.A. Law”, “Picket Fences”, “Murder She Wrote”, “Boston Legal”, “Commander in Chief”, and “West Wing” rely on the Carroll look to outfit numerous characters.

John Carroll, President of Carroll & Co., is a menswear fashion expert and has been for decades as the “Carroll look” is renowned in Hollywood and among its A-List celebrities. They have recently dressed the cast of Ides of March. As the Academy Awards are lining up, John Carroll is the perfect fashion expert to comment on celebrity styles, do’s and don’ts, and successful dressing for the red carpet.

At your convenience, can I have John Carroll speak with you about the following or can I have Mr. Carroll as a menswear fashion commentary during the raving season of award shows?

  • · Which well-dressed celebrities are on the red carpet hot watch-list.
  • · What red carpet style trends are in this award season.
  • · What is a red carpet absolute essential and what are definite fashion faux pas.
  • · Carroll & Co.’s recipe to dress for success. (http://www.forbes.com/sites/cherylsnappconner/2013/01/01/can-dressing-well-increase-your-income-in-2013/2/)
  • · Hollywood’s love affair with Carroll & Co.
  • · How the elegant menswear retailer has been able to remain a Beverly Hills fixture for over six decades (virtually unheard of).
  • · Spring’s trend forecast…what will be out and what’s new for 2013.

“Many of Carroll’s clients have been with him for 30 years or more; the company itself has been in business for 62 years. If nothing else, this alone proves the fact that dressing and grooming is a highly valuable and sought after service in LA.

Carroll drills into his employees, and also his customers, the idea that first impressions are key. Dressing for the first impression, whether it be for a job interview, a graduate interview, or a client meeting has long lasting effects.” –Forbes.com

Bridesmaid Dress Advice From Vera Wang 2013

Here is bridesmaid dress advice from Vera Wang February 2013:

Not sure how to handle the bridesmaids dresses? Practically speaking, the bride’s attendants will vary in shape and size so choose a common thread to capture the element of pageantry that their role brings to the celebration. I recommend a uniform color or fabric in different silhouettes to flatter each figure and maintain individuality.

Another approach is to ask each attendant to select her own gown (perhaps in a certain color range) to be as inclusive as possible, and will create a connection through a finishing touch such as jewelry, hair or make-up. If color is your connector, remember that pale colors work best for summer weddings and dark colors for winter celebrations. – XO, Vera
