Olympic Inspired Fashion Trends 2012

With the Olympics now at a close, we can anticipate a new wave of fashion trends inspired by the games. With these three Olympic-inspired fashion trends, you can capture a little of that gold medal style.

The most popular sport in this year’s Olympics was gymnastics, with its style, grace, and fierce competition. In every leg of the competition, the girls were seen in their rhinestone-covered leotards. Bling is in – pair a sequined blouse with a full-bodied skirt or trousers and you’ll be sure to “stick the landing.”

To capture the elegance of the equestrian events, all you need is a traditional blue or contemporary silk blazer and a pair of leather riding boots. You’ll pull off an equestrian look that signifies sophistication and works as well for a night on the town as it does in the dressage ring. A simple, toned-down pair of earrings or an understated pair of earrings is the best way to accessorize equestrian apparel.

Just like a gold medal, a handbag is the perfect fashion accessory to any outfit. Pair a white dress with a red and blue tote with gold hardware and you’re ready for the beach or trip to London. Purses with flag imprints are popping up everywhere, so you can wear your favorite team on your shoulder or show your patriotic side with a clutch covered in stripes and stars.

Whether you add only a few quality Olympic-inspired pieces such as a leather red and blue handbag, heavy duty riding boots, and a delicate lace leotard to your collection or go for gold and revamp your entire wardrobe, the confidence you gain from dressing like an Olympian will make you a true winner.

Hollywood Stars Give Their Kids’ Designer Duds to SPOILED

What do stars do with their kids’ old designer duds? The Jamie Foxx Show’s Garcelle Beauvais, Pair of Kings’ Geno Segers, and Happily Divorced’s Tichina Arnold give them to SPOILED! a new resale website for stylish kids’ apparel. Through SPOILED!’s specialty children’s online consignment boutique, these Hollywood moms and dads donated gently used garments including pieces from D&G, True Religion, Lacoste and Burberry, now available on the website with 10% of net profits benefitting Baby2Baby, a non-profit organization to help children in need. Founder Cece Hendriks was thrilled with the additions to her site, “I am so happy that these fellow parents have donated to SPOILED! They are fashion-forward parents who share my sentiments. They dress their children to impress and don’t mind sharing that fabulous style.”

SPOILED! is currently accepting donations from individuals and boutiques with clothing for ages 0 to 14 years. SPOILED! will give 10% of net profits from sales to Baby2Baby, with a 50% consignment commission to the donor! If the item is not sold after 90 days, the consignee has the choice to have the actual item returned or donated to Baby2Baby, one of SPOILED!‘s charitable partners.

Founder CeCe Hendriks is inspired by the children’s clothing and accessories she sees in her travels abroad, and wanted to bring high-end fashion at affordable prices to Los Angeles, where she currently resides. Being a mom herself, she noticed her son Jordan was always quickly growing out of his beautiful garments and realized she had to create a space to prolong the life of his gorgeous wardrobe, and SPOILED! was born. An online platform consigning children’s new and gently worn designer clothing, SPOILED! embodies the three essentials of online luxury shopping: affordability, convenience, and exclusivity. One-hundred percent authentic, Hendriks’ pieces include collectibles from European and American designers like Gucci, Burberry, Ralph Lauren and Dolce & Gabbana. “Only the finest quality merchandise is selected for our site,” Hendriks explains, and all goods sold on the site and in the showroom are approved and certified as authentic before authorized for sale.

To help families across America in need, SPOILED! has joined forces with Baby2Baby, a charity that supplies less fortunate families with essential baby gear and clothing for their children, and will donate 10% of SPOILED!’s net profit on sales to the organization, plus a portion of un-sold clothing. “We are a new company but it was important that our business model incorporated an initiative to help those in need, especially the children,” says Hendrik’s. By distributing new and gently used items to over 40 non-profit organizations, Baby2Baby reaches over 50,000 children each year. Baby2Baby works with homeless and domestic violence shelters, Head Start programs, and children’s hospitals to provide children’s essentials to families in need, including: clothing, diapers, strollers, cribs, car seats, and other gear. Please go to www.spoiledfashionz.com for more information on SPOILED!

Google Plus Vanity URLs : Fashion on Google Plus

Here is some interesting news about G+.   Rather then the long numeric page addresses, Google+ now provides abbreviated links that contain words rather then numbers.  This makes it easier for people to remember their page address.  Below you will find a few examples of fashion on Google Plus.
The vanity URLs are short, easy-to-remember web addresses that link directly to a member’s profile or page on Google+.
The URLs may make it easier for users to find profiles on the social network.

Slink Plus Sized Magazine

Have you heard of the new magazine, Slink, aimed at plus-sized readers? The magazine is having some troubles getting certain retailers on board – despite the positive reaction.

Slink, a British fashion magazine aimed at a plus-sized readership, launched this past spring. Its founder and editor, Rivkie Baum, told The Guardian that the response, overall, has been great. As they continue to work on expanding their readership, the bi-monthly title has other, more technical issues to grapple with within the fashion industry.

  • While Slink is funded entirely by advertising, the magazine has encountered problems getting certain retailers on board. Plus-sized fashion labels buy ads, of course, but Baum expressed surprise that mainstream accessories and beauty brands (none of which she named) have made reluctant partners.

You can read more about this at the High Low website.

FYI – The High Low is a site that has everything you need to know about retail trends, the intersection of tech and fashion, and the evolution of the fashion industry. It’s presented by Fifth & Pacific Companies, but the stories are not necessarily reflective of the company’s views.

The line is at once premium but also democratic in its approach, and strives to produce pieces that are destined to be favorites for years to come.

Similar to the term, the Votary collection is meant for one who is a firm believer, supporter or advocate; an enthusiast; a devotee; or a faithful follower. Votary scarves, and complementing blankets, were created as a staple in the fashion accessory industry along with making an original statement translated through the materials, over-sized construction, reversible design, fully knitted production – and all proudly designed and manufactured in the United States.

For more information, please visit www.VotaryNY.com

More about Votary and the Founder: Born and raised in New York as the son of an Italian immigrant and entrepreneur, Luigi Bianco, the founder of Votary, was born with an innate sense of style and learned at an early age the value of pursuing a dream.

Luigi chose to name the line Votary as its meaningful definition resonated at a juncture in his life when he was unsure of where his path was leading him. After spending five years practicing law and falling victim to the economic crisis, Luigi let his entrepreneurial spirit get the best of him. With great difficulty in finding a job, he left his native New York for Europe to start anew in the fashion industry and pursue his childhood dream. His time working for a well-respected fashion firm in London armed him with the tools he needed to return home and proudly establish Votary as a New York based company that manufactures in the USA to help foster smart economics.

Votary draws upon Luigi’s firm belief in making a lasting first impression. Votary’s inaugural collection of scarves seeks to inject well-constructed, smartly designed style into daily life whether it be on the street or in the home; as translated by the Votary blanket.

Votary is Americana-inspired and reflects elements of European style and detail that Luigi has refined while having lived in Milan, Rome and London. From the garish to the traditional, Votary was built to reinvent the standard for premium, yet accessible, personal style.

Non-Surgical Tummy Tucks Growing in Popularity : Do they Work

Non-Surgical Tummy Tucks Growing in Popularity : Do They Work?

As more and more people are staying away from risky cosmetic procedures and plastic surgery to slim and tighten their tummies, non-surgical tummy tucks are growing in popularity every day.

The newest non-surgical option called Tummy Tight, a non-surgical tummy tuck home kit, was recently put to the test on the Good Day Sacramento morning show.

Good Day Sacramento co-hosts Melissa Cabral and Lori Wallace used this waistline sliming system for a week and reported their results to the show’s viewers:

“I wrapped my midsection three times last week and lost a total of three inches,” Cabral said. “I lost one inch from my hips, one inch from my stomach, and one inch from the upper torso region just beneath the bust.”

Tummy Tight also worked on Wallace.

“I trimmed off two-and-a-half inches during the week,” Wallace said. “I would recommend it.”

In order to fairly test Tummy Tight, Cabral and Wallace both said they didn’t change their eating or exercise habits.

“I wore it while I sat around and watched TV at night,” Cabral said. “It worked.”

The segment is available at www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Fvpv5zgDY4&feature=plcp

The Tummy Tight kit is comprised of a surgical grade compression bandage and a liquid mineral serum, which is applied to the bandage before it is snuggly wrapped around the midsection and worn for 60 minutes, three times per week. The company that created the kit, Beauty Be Natural, promises a trimmer, tighter waistline in as little as one week if used as directed.

According to its website, www.beautybenatural.com, some may notice improvements after the very first application.

According to Beauty Be Natural, Tummy Tight is able to non-surgically reduce tummies, thighs, and other trouble spots on both men and women by combining three slenderizing techniques:

• Compression wrapping – Studies show that compression wraps and compression garments, if worn daily, can actually reshape the body. When compression garments are worn, the fatty tissues beneath the skin are pressed into the bed of blood capillaries lying just beneath the fat. The compression of tissues improves the blood circulation to and from the fat cells and speeds ups the fat-metabolizing process, allowing the reduction of both body fat and body size.

• Tissue-detoxifying liquid minerals – When toxins and pollutants enter the body through consumed food, water and air, many times they cannot be eliminated and they become stored in fatty tissues, away from vital organs. As additional protection against these toxins, the body sends fluids into the area where the toxins are stored to dilute them. After years of toxic living, the body often becomes swollen and bloated from fluid build-up, caused by the chronic presence of toxins in the body.

There are more than 80 minerals and trace minerals in the Tummy Tight liquid formula – many of which have been included for their ability to reduce inflammation and swelling by flushing toxins out of the tissues. After these minerals do their work, waistlines and tummies start to shrink, even without special diets or exercise.

• Fat-burning herbal accelerator – Special herbs added to the liquid mineral formula penetrate into the fatty tissues to stimulate the fat cells to open and release their contents. This reduces the size of the fat cells and allows them to be further compacted by the Tummy Tight compression wrap. The end result is safe, quick and easy inch-loss.

The Tummy Tight kit can be ordered at www.beautybenatural.com and comes with a 30-day, no-questions money-back guarantee.

Back to School Sales After Back to School 2012

Is it too late to buy back to school clothing after the first day of school?

First of all, it is never too late to shop…  Back to school sales after back to school officially starts is not a problem.  Some stores may run out of the trendy fashion that your child wants, but clothing will most certainly be available (and available at a “sale” price).  Clothing stores traditionally have kids clothes sales referenced as “back to school sales”.  In the USA, each state, county, or town, may have a different date in which school will actually begin.  Therefore, it is not possible to have all the sales end on the exact day that school begins for every single school.

The real question should be, “can you find better deals after your school starts?”.  The only way to know for sure is to track the sale prices at your favorite stores.  See if the prices go down after your school year begins.  You may find that stores have better back to school sales after back to school begins.

Learn more about back to school sales on the Apparel Search website.  You may also want to check the back to school section for more guides and information.

Here are a few stores we suggest you check:
